Comments:

Jack Halton, who is also preparing for Shakespeare at Stinson's production of Hamlet this May/June 2006, mastered the role of Richard's right-hand man, Buckingham. Halton's portrayal reminded me more so of a Godfather-like consiglieri than the more often played amoral mirror to Richard, but it was not the interpretation that struck me; rather, it was the fact that there reigned a true Shakespearean presence upon the stage. Shakespeare Review 2005

School Story:

Worked at Mario's my senior year with Engster and Kevin Harrigan and Rocky I was encouraged by Mrs Biskin? and Mr. O'Brien. I still remember Hamlet's advice to The Players that I learned with them. I did Mark Twain Tonight in the gymnasium and have a photo of it in the guest room. I like most kids there intended to join the army like my brother and cousins, but I took drugs and decided I wanted to go on the stage instead.

Wow, fascinating life, John! Hope you will be at the 50th reunion in 2017 to share some of your experiences. Who are some of your favorite Shakespearean characters you've played?

I'll never forget wearing your suit while playing in a play at Emma Willard--and the time you came back from NY to visit us at Troy High and give us some tips--you made quite the impression. So Happy to hear you made your career in acting! Quite the Accomplishment!!!
