NORMA SYKES MOORE (1942-2024)

Norma June Sykes Moore, 82, a resident of Lexington, passed away Friday, December 6, 2024, at Thomasville Medical Center.  She was born March 14, 1942, in Randolph County to the late Clyde Sykes and Mildred Henson.  Norma was married to Walter L. Moore and they enjoyed 52 years together, until his passing on July 18, 2020.  In addition to her husband and her parents, she is preceded in death by her son Todd Behrens.

Norma is survived by her daughter, Johanna Moore Cody and husband, Jeremy of Thomasville; her sister, Jo Carol Carter and husband Paul of Greensboro; her daughter-in-law, Deborah Behrens of Denton; two grandchildren, Courtney Behrens and boyfriend, Aaron Surratt, Nick Behrens; her great-grandson, Weston James Todd Surratt. 

No formal services will be held at this time. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.jcgreenandsons.com.

WILLIAM "BILL" WEAVER (1941-2024)

William "Bill" Weaver, III, age 83, of Greensboro, NC, passed away on December 12, 2024, at Moses Cone Hospital. Bill was born and raised in Asheboro, NC, to the late William Bernice Weaver, Jr., and Carra Miller Curlee Weaver. Bill attended both NC State University and UNC-Chapel Hill. He married Linda Kay Cochran in April of 1963. Bill had a 47-year career in the insurance industry culminating with the founding of Bill Weaver Nationwide.  He is survived by his wife Linda; son, William "Bo" Weaver, IV; daughter, Julie Weaver Parkes; three granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; and his brother Robert Coley Weaver. 

A memorial service for Bill will be held at 2 p.m., on December 21, 2024, at Guilford College United Methodist Church in Greensboro, NC.
