Roslyn High School
Class of 1966

We celebrated a belated 55th Reunion over the weekend of October 14-16 at a variety of venues in and around Roslyn. Friday evening, we met for drinks and dinner at Mim’s (formerly the Roslyn Café); on Saturday afternoon, we held a ceremony at the Duck Pond in honor of the bench we have donated to the park; on Saturday night, we had dinner at the Glen Cove Mansion; and on Sunday morning, we met for brunch at the Landmark Diner (formerly the Lamp Post).

The event at the Duck Pond was especially memorable. On a picture-perfect fall afternoon, we were welcomed by the current RHS student body president, Lindsay Cohen, and Jay Corn and Mark Liss gave short talks. Jay placed our gift of the bench in the historical context of earlier generations of Roslyn philanthropists and preservationists; Mark remembered our recently deceased classmate and long-time reunion organizer Isabel Tiffen, whose love of Roslyn and, especially, the Duck Pond was life-long. We were honored by the presence of Isabel’s sister, two daughters, and two grandchildren at the ceremony.

Pictures of the events including the future site of the bench have now been posted on our Class Creator page.  If you have not yet joined, instructions are attached to this email as to how you can do so. If you have any questions about this, or any other reunion-related matter, email us at rhs66reunion@gmail.com.

Photos are also included of the bench plaque and the site where it will be placed (near the Bryant Library) this spring. We’re planning on another event at that time; hopefully some of you can join us or, if not, will be able to visit the bench and enjoy the view sometime soon.
