Cheryl Kay (McHenry) Peshel, age 66, of Hollister, Mo., earned her wings on Monday, May 9, 2011. She was born on Oct. 19, 1944, to James and Lois McHenry in Charles City. She graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1962.

Cheryl will be remembered for her friendly smile, outgoing personality, love of the outdoors and her canny ability to tell a story. She never met a stranger and would go out of her way to help others. Cheryl was the administrative assistant at The Vacation Channel in Branson, Mo., until she was called home.

She is survived by four children: Robert Earhart, Lori (Earhart) Niehus and fiance Bruce McKeag, all of Marshalltown; Jenny (Peshel) Frieze and her husband Roger, of Branson, Mo., and Andy Peshel, of St. Louis, Mo.; her grandchildren, Jesse Earhart, Matthew and Michael Earhart, Thomas and Madison Niehus, of Iowa, and Devon and Kegan Frieze, of Missouri. She is also survived by two brothers, James (Racheal) McHenry, of Glendale, Ariz., and Jerry (Pat) McHenry, of Montour, plus two nephews and numerous other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
