
Watkinsville - Lanny McFalls, 59, husband of Debra McFalls, died Friday, May 14, 2010.
Born in DeKalb County, he was the son of the late J.D. McFalls. Lanny retired from DuPont after 29 ½ years, was recently working at Evans Pest Control and was the owner and operator of Oconee Guns and Sport. He was the vice president of the Athens Rifle Club and served his county in the US Air Force.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 17, 2010 at 3 p.m. at the West Chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Homes with Rev. James Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Oconee Memorial Park.
Survivors in addition to his wife include two children, Christy Dawn O'Kelley of Watkinsville and L. Gary McFalls Jr. of Athens; sister, Dorothy Brewster of Greenwood, S.C.; mother-in-law, Hazel Butler of Watkinsville; grandchildren, Michael, Sierra and Connor O'Kelley and Ethan McFalls; brother-in-law, Lamar Butler; nephews, Tony Butler and Keith Butler; and nieces, Beth Wilbanks and Vickie O'Kelley.
The family will receive friends Sunday, May 16, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
