Mary - Born 1990 - graduated from Bradley University and Michigan Tec in engineering. Married to Roxana and employed by the Peace Corp in Panama.

Attended University of Iowa 1974-1978. Had the good fortune to meet Gary Moritz there and we married right after my graduation.

Lived in the Des Moines area since college. Worked for the American Lung Association, for Wesley Retirement Services and now for the Iowa Public Television Foundation in fundraising.

Served on the school board in West Des Moines for the past twelve years - so the stories I used to hear at the lunch table on Monday are now the stories I hear at expulsion hearings. Nothing new under the sun in high school behavior!

My husband Gary passed away in 2011. Two years later, I was introduced to Steve Scharnberg by friends. He was widowed in 2012. We were married in 2018.

We have an extended family of three daughters, two son in laws and a daughter in law and 5 grandchildren.
School Story:

The Senior Honors Award Program - in the auditorium.

Hooded "anonymous streaker" runs down the entire center aisle, out the front right side door, jumps into a waiting convertible and speeds away.

Steve, like you this is the first I'm hearing about Kim's death.  She was such a sunny bright person.I'm sorry she had a a difficult struggle at the end of her life.
